New WordPress Plugin – Comment Email Responder
When I started blogging, I pondered the best method to respond to reader comments. I use the Subscribe to Comments plugin, but I know that not every commenter subscribes.
Perhaps you’ve used this method: respond on your blog AND via email to the commenter. This ensures that everyone gets a response to every comment posted. Yep, it’s anal. But it also creates conversations and shows readers that you care.
The problem is that it takes time to respond via email, then copy and paste the response to the blog’s comment form, so everyone can see the response. …
Sponsor Me to Attend SOBCon; I’ll Be Your Blog Slave
I you haven’t heard about SOBCon 07, you must be hiding under a rock. This is the ultimate blogging conversation. It’s a conference of 250 attendees plus “conversationalists.” The point is to network, solidify relationships, and put heads together to tackle big thoughts.
You can help me attend
The problem is that I don’t have the cash on hand to make it. But you can help me get there.
I’m looking for a sponsor (possibly more than one) who will fund my trip to Chicago for …

Blogging is about conversation. What better way is there to foster conversations than with comments?
If you want to increase comments on your blog, here are some handy tips to do so. Implement one, or try all of them.

Holy Hannah! – AdSense Disabled My Account!!
You read the headline right. Google just disabled my AdSense account. I’m trying not to panic, but I’m absolutely baffled why this has happened.
Here’s a snippet from the email I just received from Google:
It has come to our attention that invalid clicks and/or impressions have been generated on the Google ads on your site(s). We have therefore disabled your Google AdSense account. Please understand that this was a necessary step to protect the interest of the AdWords advertisers.

Publishers disabled for invalid click activity are not allowed further participation in AdSense and do not receive any further payment. The …
Legal Andrew’s Got a New Theme!
You read that right. There’s a brand new face on Legal Andrew: mine! If you’re reading this in an RSS reader, please visit the site to check out the new look. I’ve included a screen shot below.
Here are some improvements that I’m excited to announce:
Better sidebar – I’m hoping the 3-column design will make information more accessible to everyone. I felt bad putting important stuff way down in the footer.
Improved comments – These are much easier to read now. The comments feature alternating styles plus a special highlighted style for comments left by yours truly.

Check Out These Blogging Mistakes
Last week I posted my entry for the Daily Blog Tips group writing project. It’s all about the mistakes we have made when blogging.
The “entry fee” (so-to-speak) for this project is to post a list of all the entries, once the project is over. Thus, here are the other 47 entries for the project. There’s some great stuff here, so read away. If you like something, give it a link.
(Sorry for the long post, but 47 links take up a bit of space.)

2. Write three things you like about each one
3. Give each blogger a tip
This is a great tradition to help us get to know each other better, connect with other bloggers, and offer constructive feedback on each other’s work. It fulfills the very spirit of blogging. Without further ado, here we go!

Get Your Own Domain and WordPress for Your Blog
This is my entry for the blogging mistakes group writing project at Daily Blog Tips.
When I started blogging (almost a year ago!), I registered for a free account over at WordPress.com. This was a mistake.
If you’re really serious about having a quality, respectable blog, don’t hesitate to get your own domain. Install WordPress on it, and you’ll be ready to go.
Free hosts are great for the casual blogger, but they’re not right for companies or individuals wanting to distinguish themselves. The primary reason is control. If you own …
