Being a Connected Lawyer, with Technology

Grant Griffiths has a great article over at Home Office Lawyer that explains his take on being a “connected” lawyer. Obviously, in today’s age, this entails effectively using technology to remain in contact with clients and courts. Two of his tips that I really like revolve around synchronizing multiple computers (to make sure all your files are up-to-date) and the virtue of using videoconferencing. This is definitely a must-read.

Thanks for the trackback and comments on my post. In todays techno world, we have to be connected. Clients expect and demand it. Courts are slow to come around. But I can see not in the too far future when we can use video conferences to connect with the courts.

I think it will be a true step forward when courts begin video conferencing. Your point about using that for small motions and hearings is very good. Why make everyone travel to the courthouse for a 15 minute hearing, when video conferencing can let everyone stay at their office?
